Win10 the username or password is incorrect

Here’s what’s strange:

a) I set up Truenas in Proxmox, no errors.
b) Accesss and rights work as expected on 2 baremetal Win10 machines.
c) Accesss and rights work as expected on 4 Win10 VM’s
d) All users have the same name and the same password in this test setup

Only on 1 VM, I get the “Enter network credentials” windows which returns “The username or password is incorrect”

Is it possible *only this Win10 VM has it’s network access security settings different somewhere?
I tried most of the tips I found online, still doesn’t work on this one VM

First thing to check Is if the NTLMv1 Is enabled on this win10 machine, you should use ntlmv2

Run Windows Credential Manager. All the passwords are stored there.
If you delete the Password, Windows will ask for the Password again when you access the NAS.
You can then set it to “Remember” the log in details again.

thanks oxyde, that was it !!! 20250111_143321|690x454

Do I understand right that (only this) win10 tried to identify with the lowest standard, that gets refused by TrueNas (because I set it so) and Win10 interpretes this as wrong credentials ?

Yep, kinda frequent issue
