ZFS Errors - what now?

Let me ask you this, time to think outside the box, literally.
Can you make a gizmo that would attach a fan of similar height to the side of the computer to force airflow through it?

In my mind I would take a 120mm fan, make a box to house the fan under the Brix, allow it to pull air in from the bottom (means it would need some short legs), then route the air out the top of the fan and into the side of the Brix. Once I make it out of cardboard and perfect the design, then I can create a 3D printer version. But if you make a good cardboard version, you could just live with that.

I am full of ideas but yo would need to accept the fact that you would need an external fan. Use your imagination. The 120mm fan should be a 5VDC fan so it can run from the USB power. You don’t need a lot of airflow, but you need some.

This kind of thinking can go a long way.

Wouldn’t be the first one to do it:

Yes, somehow I could probably install a fan. But to be honest, I’m now too lazy to deal with it since the situation isn’t as critical as it was with the Windows VM. I do enjoy tinkering, but with the mini PC, I would expect it to look good as well. And I don’t quite trust myself to achieve that… If I encounter ZFS errors again, I would certainly be more motivated to make some changes. But for now, I believe that the significant temperature reduction will not cause any further problems. I think I can even increase the fan speed of the mini PC. I remember setting it to silent back then. I will probably implement that in the coming days! So thanks again for your help and ideas! I hope I never have to bring this topic up again and that everything will run smoothly without errors now.
