25.04 Fangtooth to 25.10 Goldeye

Greetings fellow geeks, it has been a while since I ventured these forums.

I am planning to install Paperless-ngx on my SCALE system (likely as a docker, but that’s for a different topic), which is now running 25.04.2.6. My intention was to upgrade to 25.10.2.1 since it should be a better version for what I plan to do; not that I have any issues with Fangtooth, just want to avoid/delay upgrading a “production” system with VMs/dockers/shenanigans if possible.

The system is currently in service as a simple SMB share, with L2ARC in use.

So here we are, any red flags that I should know before committing? I have skimmed over the changelog and have found nothing of significance besides the bizarre removal of smart test scheduling in the UI.

Thanks for your time, it’s nice to be back here.

Existing smart test will migrate over to cronjobs, and personally i haven’t noticed any difference in test execution from 25.04 to 25.10. The only addition i added in 25.10 was scrutiny as an app so i don’t have to use the cli for smart test result output.
25.10.2.1 also fixed a longer bug with asyncio_loop and it’s rising cpu usage, so my cpu usage and cpu temps dropped quiet a bit (around 3-5°C at idle) after update
