I recently wiped my 25.04 machine and started a fresh install of 25.10 RC1. I ran the installer and had it create the truenas_admin user. I got into the webui after initial install, setup my pool and dataset. Then, I created my own user group and user account for myself. Gave it all of the administrator privileges and logged into the webui with my new user. I then went into the users page and tried to delete the truenas_admin user account and there literally is not even a delete button. I thought this was strange so I reinstalled the OS and chose create user via the web ui method after installation. And the user account is automatically inputted as truenas_admin without the ability to change it. So I then tried to delete the truenas_admin user via the TrueNAS CLI on the host directly and it would not let me.
I remeber back in the early days of SCALE that this was also the situation where you could not delete the truenas_admin user. Then eventually they allowed the deletion of this user account. Are we back to this state where we are unable to delete the truenas_admin account?!
I know this seems silly to most but i really just want to be able to use my own user account without anything else. Can anyone confirm this issue on their own system or advise on how to delete this user account?
EDIT: So I imported my old config file and it seemed to correct this user issue. I no longer have the truenas_admin user and I only have my single user account with its respective user group on the system… But my question still stands. On a fresh install of 25.10 RC1 is it not possible to delete the truenas_admin user and group?
