Like the title says…I accidentally deleted Immich App. I followed this tutorial to install: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abqnhmOs7_A minus the added photos import- so pretty vanilla.
All the datasets are still present and I have snapshots from 2 days ago. But the App is gone. Can anyone guide me through reinstalling the app without destroying my photos and data in my datasets? Also, I am not really sure where ixsystem installs the app, so I am not sure if I have a snapshot that still has the actual app somewhere to roll back to.
I see others have done something similar, but there are a lot of datasets associated with Immich, so I am hoping for guidance that takes this complexity into account. Also , I deleted the App the same way others have- clicked the app checkbox on the left, went over to the delete button and realized the highlighted app that was to be deleted was actually Immich not what I had checked. Maybe a more robust warning would be warranted so late night deleting doesn’t result in this repeated mistake!

It all depends on how you had your storage setup in the deleted version.
Did you use hostpath for both config and storage or just storage, or no hostpath at all?
If you used hostpaths for both config and storage all you should have to do is point the new install to the old datasets and you should be good.
If you used hostpath for just extra storage you’d have to redo the immich config, but your pictures should be safe.
If you used iXVolume for both config and storage it gets more complex because you have see if the files are still inside the hidden .ix-apps folder
Thanks for the response. I think I used hostpath for everything, like in the video I posted. If you watch it, you can see exactly what I did- it is a better and faster summary rather than me writing everything out. I also see that Immich instillation has been changed (looks like it has been simplified) and the way I did it is being depreciated! But the option to install like I did originally is still available. Let me know if this helps clarify and how to proceed.
Last, in order to learn, I did make a snapshot of the storage configuration that had all the Immich hostpaths (Library, Thumbs, Uploads etc.) required to set it up. But I am not clear if I roll back to my snapshot from 2 days ago whether the App would be back or just the App data?
I don’t us immich myself, but i know that the way the storage is laid out has changed from some forum posts i saw.
You should be able to simply redo your setup the way you did the first time and your app should start up without data loss.
Since you’ve deleted the app itself and not datasets you used as hostpaths i doubt that your snapshots would have helped you since some parts of the app should still be saved in the hidden .ix-apps dataset (which can’t be snapshotted).
