Going to guess that those are parallel to standard internal error correcting checks & are ‘business as usual’. @joeschmuck I am on the right path here or at those something to be worried about?

Simply slow format the drive.
That’s what I do.
Ex. In Windows systems the slow format would check the entire disk.
Before that, I would quick format the drive and then either:
Fill the hdd completely full with big files, or better yet,
Run chkdsk /r (checks entire surface and finds/marks bad blocks).
A proper format command/tool should check every block and gather a list of bad blocks, etc.
Now, if you want to burn-in the drive, simply hammer it with small files until full.

As @Fleshmauler Stated (and yes, you are on the correct path), These are simply normal read errors which does happen. If the value of 109 starts to climb like crazy, (many thousands over a short period of time) then I would expect the drive to map out (remove) the problematic sectors. Whenever you suspect a drive is having a problem, run a SMART Long/Extended test and verify the results are good. And then if you still are concerned, do as you did here, ask someone.
