Hi folks. I’m trying to setup an archive for Final Cut Pro libraries. I’ve decided to store them on my TrueNAS Core server. However, I’m running into an issue I can’t seen to get past.
As I’ve been archiving my events to my FCP library on my TrueNAS server, I will sometimes want to change the name of the FCP project when the event is on the server. This appears to work but if I close and reopen the library from teh server, FCP will tell me the library is damaged. I’ve isolated this to the project rename step. If I rename the project on on a local macOS disk first, then copy the event, it works fine.
So it seems I’m missing some configuration to allow FCP to properly rename projects.
A bit of research later and I found this article from Apple:
{sorry can’t include links in posts for some reason}
Specifically, it says if storing FCP on Linux (I know, CORE is no Linux, but I was hoping it doesn’t matter), that I need to configure SMB with:
vfs objects = catia fruit streams_xattr
I added this to the Aux Params in the SMB settings and restarted SMB, but it still didn’t solve the problem.
I’m running the latest version of TrueNAS Core and FCP.
Anyone else using FCP and storing / managing your libraries? What settings do you use for your share/smb config?
Thank you.
