In an attempt to save power I’m working on a newer lower power system that will exclusively use NVMe storage.
However, I copied the configuration from my current Scale box to this new one and in the new one, while I can seemingly use the old user accounts to sign into SMB and the web UI, then don’t appear in the user list when I look for them and I’m met with just an error.
“Can not retrieve response.”
Version of old system: TrueNAS-SCALE-24.10.2.1
Version on the new system: OS Version:25.04.1
I am a bit confused, did you build a system on 25.04.1 and the restore a 24.10.2.1 configuration into it? I am not sure that will work. If not, please clarify specifically what you are doing.
Yeah, the new system is 25.04.01 fresh. And I put the old systems config over it.
Everything else seems to be fine sans the users.
But that does make sense that it probably shouldn’t work.
The users work though, they just don’t display. For example, I know the login details from my relevant users and can login to my SMB share and the webUI with them even though I can’t see them.
