Degraded Mirror Pool Core 13.3

Hi, running TrueNAS Core 13.3 U1.2 and this morning received a message that 1 of my mirrored pools is degraded.

I will have a replacement disk tomorrow afternoon. Is there anything else I need to check or do before I get the replacement disk?

Seems like one of the drives failed. Looks like ZFS tried to resilver the mirror after hitting some errors, but then the faulty drive kept failing further and was removed for good reason.

ada0 is the failed drive?

Yes

If you haven’t done so, check the other drive as well. Drive ada0 appears to look good.

If drive ada1 also looks good, then you can do some other troubleshooting if you desire.

I’d run the zpool clear Pool2 command. Then see if the pool is back online, no longer degraded.

I would recommend you run a SMART Long test smartctl -t long /dev/ada0 but only do that if your data is backed up elsewhere. Make sure your data is safe. If ada1 is the faulty drive and you test ada0 and cause a failure, that is not good.

Yes, that is an easy one. Subtract FFFFFFFF (4294967295) from the value. If there is any remainder then you have a one failure count. If you can subtract FFFFFFFF yet again and have a remainder, you would have a two failure count. You repeat this until no remainder is left. This is for Read Error Rate and Seek Error Rate only.

Ok, Received the new drive yesterday and followed the documentation for replacing which took a while, although was pretty straight forward. After the initial scan it did indicate that there was a single file was corrupted. The file name seemed strange and I remember seeing that same file as corrupted when I was having trouble importing the pool. This time it gave me the name of the dataset where the file was located. I don’t need that dataset so I removed that dataset then scrubbed the pool and everything came out with no errors. So, my problem is solved.
