Drives degraded after a cable swap and slow scanning speed

after swapping a couple of cables around I got a warning of two degraded disks.

I swapped the cables back and tried to scrub the pool. this got stuck at 98 % when time counter started going up instead of down. I ended up restarting scale and run

sudo zpool clear tank

this made the pool go into resilvering. this is the status:

admin@truenas[~]$ zpool status tank -v
pool: tank
state: ONLINE
status: One or more devices is currently being resilvered. The pool will
continue to function, possibly in a degraded state.
action: Wait for the resilver to complete.
scan: resilver in progress since Mon Mar 9 09:44:07 2026
11.2G / 72.4T scanned at 62.6K/s, 0B / 72.4T issued
0B resilvered, 0.00% done, no estimated completion time

I have one new drive on the way but this scanning speed is making me worry.

the drives in the pool are all:

Seagate Exos X16 ST16000NM001G / 16TB (ST16000NM001G)

Edit: hardware info

Truenas runs in a proxmox vm, the vm has:

1 socket 8 cores from an intel i5 8800

32 GB of ddr 4 ram

all the drives are connected to an LSI 2008 sas raid controller flashed in IT mode model also known as IBM M1015 HBA passed directly through to truenas.

can anyone recommend me the best path forward.
