Failing Disk 4TB Seagte - Cannot get into TrueNas (unless i remove disk)

Good day!

I have a mini-disaster ongoing now for 10 days, we had a power outage

  1. My TrueNas will not startup
  2. After troubleshooting I have have discovered the following and is now in full panic mode…
  3. The Main Pool is giving these outputs are per screen shot…
  • It is booting up to the point where it starts importing the Mail Pool then
  • It just sits on this screen … nothing happing after that even leaving it now for a week
  • Then when i remove /Disk1 it boots fine and I can login, then i shows the Main Pool is offine…
  • 5x 4TB in this pool
  • I suspect /Disk1 is the culprit as I have set that as OFFLINE and wanted to replace with a new disk, but I cant as it won’t allow me to add the disk to the Main Pool nor can i access the Main Pool
  • I re-inserted the original drive and tried to boot, but then get stuck as above, and I cant run a scrub or anything on that specific drive

Any Ideas / help - i need some very important files of a client around 1TB in this Main Pool…

Running Core 13 U6

Please post the output of the following commands in CODE tags:

zpool import
zpool status

Then list your hardware, including all disk make & model, and how they are connected to the server.

Last, as you found out, a power outage exposed a hardware problem, your failing 4TB Seagate disk. But, in general, ZFS will not lose data due to power outage(s).

Hopefully the pool isn’t a stripe.
