What generates these messages? Scrub, Smartctl, both. Is this drive failing?
This.
Probably.
Here is the smartctl data for this drive. I don’t have much experience with failing drives going all the way back to FreeNAS. This drive isn’t that old. Would you keep on using it or try and warranty it? This drive passes SeaTools without errors.
Any input would be appreciated.

The failed long self-test is concerning, but it’s since passed two more. I’d be wary, but don’t think I’d try to return it right now.
Thanks for your input Dan! I was reading Seagates procedure for “bad” drives. It looks like there is a prerequisite for failing drives, they must fail Seatools?
I can’t really speak to that–I know I’ve returned Seagate drives without using Seatools, but it’s been some time ago. But at that time, I recall there being an option for “I can’t run Seatools.”
In my experience, when I had this error it was due to a bad cable. Would consider reseating/swapping sata data wire.
How is this drive connected to the system? Directly to the motherboard or through an HBA?
Also mind re-running command with the following? Seagate drives need additional parameters to make sense of some of the fields.
smartctl -a -v 1,raw48:54 /dev/sda -v 7,raw48:54
*edited the sh# to match your drive instead of mine
Edit 2: Just realized it is a Truenas Mini X+ so some of the questions are pointless; I would still try reseating the drive, consider cleaning connections with iso, and swapping bays to see if error flows the disk or is specific to a particular drive bay. Also do please give output of command above.
Here is the code.

No raw reads, no uncorrected sectors… Drive looks pretty healthy to me.
Maybe someone smarter can chime in on why you had the CRC errors.
