Hardware assessment

I’m looking to build a truenas scale server for home use. It will be the storage backbone with separate proxmox nodes running vms over iscsi on to of it. I believe these are the requirements:

  • 10gb sfp+
  • Ipmi
  • Ecc
  • HL15 case
  • 4 nvme support

Beyond that, I’m not really sure what to prioritize. Heat, noise, and idle draw are major considerations. I’ll be running standard media server services, but also latency sensitive things like Minecraft and pbx. I’ve come up with the following:

  • H13SAE-MF
  • Epyc 4345P
  • 64gb ecc
  • LSI 9305-16i SAS HBA
  • Mellanox ConnectX-4
  • Nvme card

Cost is not the primary concern, but I do want to get something reasonable balanced for my use case. I would prefer to get ten years out of it. Is this a reasonable approach?
