The current version which I just fresh installed has a slight bug upon checking in the Plex forums. App Version: v1.42.1.10054-f333bdaa8
Version: v1.2.6
Keeps complaining about a Core component error
Which is cleared with a few setup clicks.
I would like to install the prior version till they work out the error. How do I do this with docker? Thanks
You could convert the app to a custom app (using the menu available in the GUI) and then manually change it from pulling the “latest” to a specific version you rather use.
That may work, I guess?
Save a backup config before you do this if you don’t have one, just in case. The app conversion is one-way. You would need to recreate the app from scratch if you want to go back.
Edit:
I forgot that apps from the repository also have a roll back function, as described here:
I may try the custom app route…the one way conversion is a bit alarming however. Unfortunately there is no version to roll back to as this was a fresh install being moved from my MacOS version.
The newest PMS version fixes a potential security issue, all the affect images were pulled from the project’s dockerhub. The most recent image that’s not affected is 4 months old.
I switched back to my Mac mini version for the time being. Hopefully they will fix the bug and update the package.
Just make sure the plex server version isn’t between 1.41.7.x and1.42.0.x
They have not disclosed what the possible security issue is, if you need to run one of the affected ones DO NOT ALLOW NON LOCAL CONNECTIONS.
