Do this right now.
- Export the encryption key. Save it somewhere safe.
- Export your TrueNAS config with “secret seed”. Save it somewhere safe.
Optionally, you can also copy the string into a password manager.
Optionally, I highly recommend you consider this approach for future reference. It will allow you to always have a possible recovery, known only to you, even if you lose everything else.

@neofusion should i have been able to use this information and do what @winnielinnie walked me through? It seems like I just needed a better understanding of mounting datasets and drilling into them for the needed files. Am I processing this ocrrectly?

Remember, the last time you checked, your RAIDZ2 vdev is degraded because it’s missing an entire drive.
We won’t go off topic in this thread. I wanted to remind you about this so you can take care of it before something bad happens.
yes. resilvering is a cakewalk after locking myself out of encryption with a failed OS usb drive as my only hope to get back in.
I think we need to push this as an emoji addition to the forums or to the LIKE section
