I’m looking for 128GB ECC RDIMM DDR4 2400MHz ram for a Supermicro MBD-X10SDV-F Xeon D-1541
A-Tech has a reasonably priced package of ebay, but I’ve never use A-Tech before and not sure if it’s good quality. I’m always concerned when buying on ebay, or amazon.
Never heard of it.
Ultimately I would say it depends on the warranty offered and if you believe they will honour it, if needed. It’s reasonable to expect lifetime warranty on something like RAM.
No matter the maker, I highly recommend you run memtest86 for 4 passes (or more), to help verify stability.
Never used them, but i have made some experience with similar brand.
In most of case they are just re-branded chips of major producer (samsung, skhynix, ecc), as already suggested i think you should be fine after a long memtest to detect if they are good or defective.
IMHO what make the difference is, if ram start failing after some months, they will provide warranty?
According to theyr site, if you register the product they provide lifetime warranty (limited off course on defect, not deterioration) for the first customer.
In my experience, got a defect Puskill ram (fast refunded just providing them back), instead a Tecmyo stick that start failing after 2 months has not been recognized for warranty with really stupid excuse from them → i will never buy Tecmyo anymore
I ordered them and will report back in a couple of weeks.
Just as an update, I decided to return them. After research, it seems possible that they’re name brand ram could be repaired modules. They did a very prompt complete refund. I’m just not comfortable with rebuilt. I did order some samsung oem new old stock from them and it passed a few hrs of memtest.
