Nas not reponssive after starting dead app

what idid:
I stopped an app (AudioBookShelf) copied config and metadata and edited the app so that the storage pointed to the copied data. Finnally I started the app again but it was stuck in “deploying”.
I was somewhat calm… inspecting the log (where 2 different messages that were scrolling by faster than I could read) was still possible. The App could not create logs as I could see the log. stopping was no more possible so i edited the accesses in my ssh shell i could still use. but the shell finally froze, accessing via web-ui is not possible, nor logging in via ssh.
restarting the machine did not change the situation.

the train I am on is Fangtooth, more infos can not be gathered
i suspect the log flooded the system disk. or the said app tries to start time and again (groundhog mode)

is there an other way to rm the logs and stop this app?
