I’ve got TrueNAS Core configured and running nicely on a re-purposed PC. I am also running WireGuard on a RPi. I have SMB shares and FTP service running on TrueNAS, restricted to LAN access (i.e., remote access is only via VPN, no port forwarding to the FTP service). No trouble connecting to TrueNAS GUI, SMB or FTP from my Android clients, locally or over WG VPN. On my W11 PC, however, I can only connect to TrueNAS when WG VPN is INACTIVE. The Windows WG client is blocking the traffic to the TrueNAS server. Androod devices use WiFi. W11 PC ethernet. RPi is ethernet also. If I follow the recommendation of a number of sites and UNCHECK the Windows WG client’s “Block untunneled traffic,” then my W11 PC connects to TrueNAS fine. Not sure there isn’t a better way to keep access when WG client is active on the W11 PC, possibly through an IPTable entry, but that’s beyond me right now. I realize this is more a VPN matter than a TrueNAS one, but am guessing it is one TrueNAS users have encountered and addressed. Suggestions, please? Thank you.
