Server Version#:1.42.2.10156
I’ve recently upgraded, on the exact same hardware from Ubuntu 24.04 (Bare metal install) to TruNAS Community (Container).
Alder Lake CPU (12th gen) with Quicksync, no GPU
My versions of Plex on both are/were version 1.42.2.10156, and I’m a Plex Pass holder.
I did a clean install in TruNAS as an App/Docker, and copied over the database and config files to not lose my Collections and all that. The paths are nearly the same.
Playback using direct play works fine in all instances, my collections and custom art, etc.. is all there.
The problem is…. Hardware transcoding (hw) worked flawlessly on the Ubuntu install from 4K (with or without HDR) to 720p, and now on the TruNAS install, 4K HDR to 720p, the hardware transcoding doesn’t kick in (uses all kinds of CPU). BUT, going from a 1080p to 720p file, the hardware transcoding kicks in and works as it should.
In the console (Warning and Error enabled)…I get these errors…

I’ve searched this forum with no real luck of finding a solution.
If I disable HDR tone mapping, it kicks in hardware transcoding the way it should. But it used to work with my old setup with that enabled.
If anyone can offer some insight that would be great.
