Switching to Fiber - CGNAT / VPS Transition How-To for Web Facing Truenas Apps

T-Mobile is really dropping their pants and is offering a deal too great to pass up on in my neighborhood. The xfinity I have is alright, but the upload is 120 mbs peasant tier.

The dirty secret with T-Mobile is that it is all CGNAT and they won’t offer a static IP address unless I get a business account.

Not really specific to Truenas, but could any of you networking Chads share a good working configuration to allow outside server access to Truenas with a CGNAT ISP (i.e., minecraft servers, plex, etc.) if I switch to T-Mobile? Telling all my neices and nephews to set up Tailscale accounts to play on the minecraft servers I host is not realistic.

Claude tells me its easy-peasy to set up a VPS to get around CGNAT, but if its not, I’ll have already burned the ships with Xfinity when I find out the hard way its not easy.

Thanks again.
