TN-Bench -- An OpenSource Community TrueNAS Benchmarking and Testing Utility

Great utility that I used a couple of weeks ago, but for some odd reason the folder created by the utility ”tn-bench” kept mounting itself after I had deleted it.

@NickF1227 first off, thanks for this great tool!

Question about the Individual Disk Benchmarks - Is it intentional that this tests all disks on the system rather than just the ones in the selected pool(s)? I’d definitely prefer the latter if possible, to avoid impacting other parts of the system not being benchmarked.

Appreciate the feedback! It is intentional, but not really for any good reason. Something I will definitely consider in the next version. I’ve been working on other side projects and haven’t had time to come back to this one in some time. I have some other ideas too, but I’ll defnitely keep this one in the queue.

EDIT: I have not run through the TNOS menu in some time, and your point is even more well taken. Based on its position in the menu flow, it certainly seems like it would imply that it’s only testing your selected pool(s), but that is not the case. I think this is more of a bug, than an oversight, so thank you again for mentioning.

I will try to at least patch this sometime this weekend, but TNOS has grown alot more complex than when I had started this and a larger UI refactor with a fancier TUI interface may be preferable to the hodgepodge text interface I have organically grown over the past year or so. :stuck_out_tongue:
