Hello, I have just upgraded to scale 25, found VMs disabled by incus because my pool name contains space.
Searched for solutions, suggested: export pool, than import using cli with arguments.
After importing, datasets page seemes fine, pools page says no pool found. Consulted GPT, it suggested:
This “kelnel mount” seemes important and maybe i shouldn’t mess with it.
Please help me to fix the mounting point, any advice are welcome, thanks in advance!
I do wish people would stop consulting ChatGPT and other dumb idiot AIs that simply parrot anything incorrect that anyone else has written!!!
We need to understand what your current pool status is in both Linux/ZFS and in the TrueNAS UI.
Please post screen shots of your UI Storage page (zoomed out so all pools are shown) and Datasets page with the tree collapsed to just the root entries.
Also post the results of the following commands each in its own </> box:
/sbin/zpool list
/sbin/zpool status -v
/sbin/zpool import
Once we have these we can decide what needs doing.

This should hopefully cause all datasets in the pool to inherit their mount points from the pool mountpoint. Once you have run this then run sudo zfs list Pool_0 again and see if the mount points have changed. If not then reboot and check again.
If after a reboot the mountpoints are still wrong, you can try:
sudo zfs set mountpoint=/mnt/Pool_0 Pool_0
which should change the root dataset location permanently and remount everything.
Thanks for help!
However, it seemes this command didnt work as expected…

Ah. Fortunately you got an error - because I had failed to consider that TrueNAS had some other datasets on here that have non standard mount-points. So apologies for me suggesting something stupid!!
Can you run /sbin/zfs list -r -o name, mountpoint, mounted Pool_0 and post the results so we can check whether anything was done?
First I made a checkpoint according to the walkthrough (better safe than sorry!)
truenas_admin@truenas[~]$ sudo zpool get checkpoint Pool_0
NAME PROPERTY VALUE SOURCE
Pool_0 checkpoint - -
truenas_admin@truenas[~]$ sudo zpool checkpoint Pool_0
truenas_admin@truenas[~]$ sudo zpool status Pool_0 | grep checkpoint
checkpoint: created Wed Jun 25 22:28:57 2025, consumes 1.38M
After unmounting (un-forceful), “zfs inherit -r mountpoint” seemes to work, at least partially.
truenas_admin@truenas[~]$ sudo zfs unmount Pool_0
truenas_admin@truenas[~]$ sudo zfs inherit -r mountpoint Pool_0
cannot unmount '/var/db/system': pool or dataset is busy
cannot unmount '/var/db/system/netdata': pool or dataset is busy
cannot unmount '/var/db/system/samba4': pool or dataset is busy
However, as the other thread says exporting the pool via cli and import via gui to make changes permanent and let the middleware know, again i met with dataset busy.
truenas_admin@truenas[~]$ sudo zpool export Pool_0
cannot unmount '/var/db/system/samba4': pool or dataset is busy
The question is, should i forcefully unmount this dataset, and proceed with export-importing?
I have a checkpoint, but dunno whether the CoW mechanism can save me if i messed with this apparently system-related dataset.
When I am trying to help you - and especially after I have screwed up - please do NOT take your own actions. Mixing and matching actions from different solutions may screw things up completely.
We definitely need to fix a few things.

and post the results.
Assuming that the zfs list shows mountpoints all corrected (i.e. as per the original list except “/mnt/mnt” is now just “/mnt”) then a reboot should bring everything back - but let me double check before you reboot.
I have run those zfs set -u, they didnt report errors.

Thanks for replying!
SMB was already deactivated via gui.
For now, maybe I should not mix up solutions, but still let me thank you for your cordial help!
Still doesn’t look right. I ran some tests on my own system and because the zpool altroot is set to /mnt we need to omit that from the zfs set commands.
sudo zfs set -u mountpoint=/Pool_0 Pool_0
sudo zfs set -u mountpoint=/.ix-apps Pool_0/ix-apps
Then sudo zfs list Pool_0 again.
P.S. The @winnielinnie reply was posted in parallel with my own saying please don’t mix solutions - so I wasn’t referring to this when I said that.
