Hello. I’ve upgraded from TrueNAS 25.04.2.6 to 25.10.0. First by upgrading through the web UI, after that by doing a clean install, importing my pool and manually setting back my settings. In both cases, FreeFileSync would think the SMB share is empty. When I click to open text files in the share, Windows 11 Explorer would sometimes also start saying the share/folder is empty (but the text file would open normally). I can also browse through the data and open files most of the time. Sometimes I would get an error (file/folder not in that location). But when performing a scrub, all the data seems to be there. So it has (luckily) nothing to do with the data itself, just with the SMB software. As far as I know, I have set (and kept) most default settings. The pool is encrypted with a passphrase and I have compression turned off. The system dataset is also on the boot-pool. I have added a dedicated SMB user and a dedicated SMB child dataset. The other settings (including SMB ACL) are the default ones as far as I know.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don’t think this bug has been or will be reported by others, because it is too serious.
Same issue here, it’s quite random. Needs several refreshes , switch to other disks and come back etc.. to have the root folders displayed. Quite annoying. Never did that with 25.04.
I am also getting this issue, sometimes folders show up as empty and also when writing to an SMB share the speed will sometimes drop to 0 for it to recover many minutes later
