Truenas behind Firewall

My truenas scale is configured in a separat vlan behind a pfsense firewall. Internet access is blocked.
Which IP adresses / URLs do I have to allow for the truenas to function properly.
What I was able to find out so far:
It needs access to

  • downloadtruenascom for updates
  • githubcom for config backup
  • drivegooglecom for google-drive sync (but it does not seems to be enough for syncing with google drive)

Is there a list of addresses? Official one?
Thanks a lot!

Funny: links are not allowed to post - so I had to cheat the dots…

Just enable logging in pfsense and take a look after a couple of days.
Filter by the TrueNAS source IP and you should have a good understanding on what addresses are in use.

There has to be a list! I am not interested in debugging the shit out of it…
Someone has to know how this system works an what the network prerequisites are.

Why would there be a list?

TrueNAS is a NAS with configuration options that enable you to do many many extra things with it. Your use of (in this example) google-drive is optional, and almost certainly not used by IX’s target market.

IX cannot possibly keep such a list of all the possible options - why would they even try?

Just allow anything outbound, nothing inbound and it will work (probably)
