TrueNAS SCALE 24.04.2.5 - Suddenly no GUI, no SMB

Hey gang,

Our data center was doing some maintenance on our backup power path which cause a blip in our network stack. Our storage array running TrueNAS 24.04.2.5 never went down but once the network stack came back up, we are having issues accessing the TrueNAS GUI and it is not coming up in SMB, and it’s not pingable.

We rebooted the array and see everything starting without issue and the console shows the IP we’ve used to GUI and SMB access. However, nothing is pingable from the NAS and nothing can ping the NAS. The NAS is on the same subnet with a couple of other servers and workstations. The servers and workstations can see each other but none can see the NAS, and the NAS can’t see them. We tried rebooting the entire network stack as well.

The NIC has been functioning at 10GB and TrueNAS shows it as UP on boot. Same in ifconfig. We have a static IP configured on the NIC which is br0 to allow access to a VM that runs on SCALE. The console reflects the configured static IPs on boot. I don’t see any issues on the switch ports. I have tried configuring DHCP on a secondary port, but I still can’t access it using the assigned IP.

It’s been rock solid with the current config until this network blip.

We’ll be on-site tomorrow. Any insight, tips to troubleshoot would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Solved. Traced it back to an issue with the switch port(s) and the 10G SFP to RJ45.

GUI and SMB are coming up on a new port with a new SFP. Now to see what failed and why.
