TrueNAS Scale 25.10.1 (fresh update last night)

It’s probably not all that productive to correct your assumption here at this point, but if you posted a screenshot of your Update screen, it almost definitely says you’re on the Developer update profile. If you’re getting any notification of updates it’s because you’re already on that train. Any version labeled ##.##.##-MASTER is a nightly build.

The latest 25.10 version that’s available in any official capacity is the pre-release 25.10.0-RC.1. The 25.10.0 should be coming before the end of the month and, as others have said, 25.10.1 is a long way off. I’m not even really sure how you ended up on a 25.10.1 nightly to be honest.

kind’ve old at this point but i went through a similar observation. Not as bad as yours but I did end up sticking with core.
On the EXACT same hardware, between 2 machines connected @ 10Gb via dac (so can’t blame a switch), scale flat-out could NOT achieve the same throughput as core. core instantly and saturated the line and kept it saturated until the transfer was completed. (40GB file). starting the transfer in core, throughput spiked to 10Gb/s and stayed there solidly until the transfer was complete. doing the same write transfer with scale, it would ‘build-up’ to between 45-50% of that of core. reads from the nas were always line rate, but writes couldn’t cut it.

While I like the interface of scale better than that of core, i observed a few bugs.. the setup isn’t NEARLY as simple as it is with core (need to enable legacy settings in the bios, whereas with core, i have everything on uefi and it just works).
I’m not doing anything hyper-converged, and reliability is just too important so I stuck with core and this is the first time i’ve checked in about scale. really looking forward to zVault.io ‘s release of a truly opensource version of truenas core.

I still have a TrueNAS Scale configuration working for Plex, however have temporarily given up on using it as the 10 X speed difference between it and Proxmox 8.4 or TrueNAS Core are meaningful when you have large files to transfer I have successfully got most of Proxmox configured and will use CIFS to link the DATA STORAGE to the Proxmox Jail. I don’t believe there should be such a horrific problem for developers on SCALE providing drivers for HP g8 servers, It’s not like they’re in trash cans. Mine have given me over 5 years of service and show no signs of faltering.
