truenas scale nfsv4 nobody nogroup

when i mount my nfsv4 share on linux it shows up as nobody nogroup ownership,
the files and contents are still readable. both systems source users from the same freeipa server. i’ve cleared sssd cache on both. and i have kerberos credentials on the linux system.

it shows up with correct ownership on the truenas server

i see no errors in /var/log/messages on truenas. and no errors running sudo automount -f -vvvvvv

autofs mounting uses: -fstype=nfs4,rw,defaults,sec=krb5p

it seems like it’s working now im not sure what one fixed it but i:

  • unselected and selected the mount again in the share options
  • added my domain to NFSv4 DNS Domain in the nfs service settings
