TrueNAS WebGUI & SMB issues

Hi everyone! I’ve exhausted my Google-fu on this one and have been left empty.

Occasionally, when I move data on/off of the SMB share, the transfer speed drops to 0, then becomes unresponsive. In this state, I am unable to access to WebGUI, or the SMB share. I am still able to ping the server, and the server is responsive from the local terminal (VGA and USB Keyboard).

A simple restart, either by enacting a graceful shutdown by a single press of the Power button, or by a Restart command from the local console, will stop this behavior on reboot.

Please let me know what logs to show to help diagnose this issue.

System Information:
TrueNAS-SCALE-23.10.2
Intel I7 8700
GIGABYTE B360 HD3
64GB 3200MHz DDR4 (4x16GB)
Intel I225 2.5Gb NIC
Titan Xp
EVGA 550W PSU

Boot drive:
Corsair Force MP300 120GB
SMB Pool:
1x 12TB, 5x 10TB drives in 1 drive vdevs

What are your dataset settings? Are you using compression if so which and have you enabled dedup? How big is your pool and how much space are you using?

Not sure what you mean by this. Can you share the output of zpool status.

Also - are you using deduplication?

Dataset settings:
Type: FILESYSTEM
Sync: STANDARD
Compression Level: LZ4
Enable Atime: ON
ZFS Deduplication: OFF
Case Sensitivity: ON

I have 6 1-drive vdevs 1 of which is 12TB, 5 are 10TB.
Usable capacity 57.69 TiB, currently 46.3% full.

Here’s a snip from my zpool status

You are aware that you have no parity on that pool aren’t you. If you lose a drive, you will lose the entire pool

Yes I am aware. I appreciate you looking out, but I dont believe thats the cause of my issue.

No, neither do I - it was just something that jumped out at me.

The other thing that leaves me a bit twitchy is the NIC. 2.5Gb NICs aren’t good although yours is at least Intel.

Lastly, Titan XP + 6 drives + rest of PC. Do you have a lower power graphics card / can you not use the I7 GPU instead?

I added the 2.5 NIC as to not have to use the integrated Realtek NIC, which Truenas is picky about.

I dont necesarrily need the Titan, I could test without it to see what happens.
