Today I was not able to update “ElectricEel-24.10.2.4”.
The DNS was blocked by “HaGeZi’s Ultimate” Blocklist via CNAME “||storjshare.io^”.

storj hosts the update and iso files for truenas… if you can unblock it…
Blocking type: Aggressive
Stricter version of the Multi PRO++ blocklist. It contains domains that limit functionality in apps and on websites - some popular trackers, that lead to restrictions, are blocked in this list. Therefore it should only be used by experienced users. Furthermore, an admin should be available to unblock incorrectly blocked domains.
That’s why I use only “Pro”.
Thx for Feedback.
Of course I can unblock DNS.
The Question is, why does the filter blocks the DNS and why now and not in the past…
Ok, was only for information.
That’s a question you need to ask Hagezi. Open an issue on Github.
It’s recurring problem in one form or another, and increasingly suggests that iX’ partnership with Storj may have been ill-advised–but I still don’t understand why the issues are raised here as though it’s iX’ issue. If some random entity is blocking the domains in question, it seems it’d make much more sense to take it up with whoever’s doing the blocking.
Hi Dan,
I was just pointing out that the domain isn’t accessible via the “HaGeZi’s Ultimate” blocklist.
I didn’t say that IX is a problem.

I thought you were pointing out it was an iX issue and not a HaGeZ issue.
the updatelink update.ixsystems.com will be filtered with cname ||storjshare.io^

Where does it say that iX has a problem, or that I’m blaming iX for this situation… that’s a really weird interpretation of what I said…
@pmh got it and answered correctly, in my opinion… but that I’ve now made a big deal out of it for iX…
You can now start bashing me - I’m out here now…
They way you titled the thread and your post lead others to believe you were saying it was a TrueNAS (iX Systems) problem. You were not real clear with your post
Thanks for this. I went ahead and got us added to the allow list.
I have the same problem, but I am using CIRA (CIRA.ca) domain name servers that also do filtering. I had to change to the unfiltered list to get the updates. I posted about it here on the forum as well, but it didn’t go anywhere.
is this something you can look into as well?
Thanks in advance.
Did you every try reaching out to CIRA to report a false positive?
Yes, but I received no reply.
I just changed a 26 Nightly to use the CIRA Protected DNS of 149.112.121.20 & 149.112.122.20.
I was able to check for an update and refresh the APP catalog, as of just now
I have submitted an allow list request to CIRA Canadian Shield
Their response, seems we are not blocked.
I have reviewed these three sites and we are not blocking on our end. These sites have the proper associated category of Technology and are not flagged or blocked within our system.
If customers are having issues accessing the site they might not have the category of Technology allowed or have a higher restriction set on their network.
But we are not blocking these sites.
Thanks. The block issue was reported to the forums on Jan 25th.
