CIRA DNS Servers

Good day,

It seems that the CIRA DNS servers have flagged the update URL as malware and blocks traffic to it. Can someone from IX reach out to CIRA and clear that up? I do believe the location for the update trains comes from https ://update.ixsystems.com/?

Thanks,
Wayne

It might help if you post the DNS service address you use or a link to it or setup instructions. Do they have an address checker?

I am using the cira.ca dns servers 149.112.121.20 and 149.112.122.20. These provide filtering, not unlike Unbound or Pi-hole I suppose. When I go to the Update page in TrueNAS (I am running 25.04.2.6), it gets a timeout. If I go to the update.ixsystems web page via a browser, I get a page from CIRA saying that the site is blocked as it is flagged as malware. Last time I know it was working was when I upgraded to 25.04.2.6 from an earlier release.

I do not see a place to check addresses on their site. www.cira.ca/en/canadian-shield

It’s probably because they block storj the storage provider truenas uses for their download servers

@kris This might be helpful for others checking or doing a diag. Could we get a sticky or Resources post on how to do a helpful diag when the blocking issue occurs?
