I have updated from 25.04.2.4 to 25.04.2.5. Logged in but had to recreate the TrueNAS admin ID’s password! Then found out I’d lost my datasets and SMB shares, there were none!. I ‘imported’ the ‘old’ pool “Pool-1” OK. I had to start the SMB service and re-enter all my users, with SMB access, as they’d all gone ‘missing’ as well. I have had to reset up the SMB “Pool-1/Win-1” Share ACLs, etc. as ‘everyone, full control’.
I can now see the share “Win-1” in Windows file explorer, but when I click on it I get the error “Network error. Windows cannot access \192.168.1.5\Win-1” and “The network name cannot be found. Error code 0x80070043”
And now no matter what settings I have on my dataset, “mnt/Pool-1”, the SMB share filesystem ACLs, “/mnt/Pool-1/Win-1”, I get the same error.
“/mnt/Pool-1/” ; ACL Type* POSIX, ACL Mode* Discard. Both grey’ed out
“/mnt/Pool-1/Win-1” ; ACL Type* SMB/NFSv4, ACL Mode* Restricted. Both can be changed.
I’m not sure what I’m doing or what to do next. Is there anyone who can help?
All fixed by using ChatGPT. Fix was to delete SMB share and re-create is.

If you still get “Network name cannot be found”
This one usually means the SMB share definition itself isn’t being advertised correctly.
Try this quick check on TrueNAS Shell:
testparm -s
Scroll and look for your share definition:
\[Win-1\]
path = /mnt/Pool-1/Win-1
read only = No
If nothing is displayed this indicates that the share was not set up / imported fully.
Fix is to delete and re-create the SMB share. Then stop and re-start the SMB service.
