UPS service upsmon error

So I just checked my /var/log/messages and apparently I’m getting a upsmon error. I haven’t changed anything.

Tested: Rebooted to 11.3-U5 and no error.

Tested: Rebooted to TrueNAS-12.0-U8.1 and no error.

I’ve had connection with the UPS getting lost, actually last month. It has been very rare for me but it has happened. A reboot is what I need to do to recover from it. If the problem occurs often, search Google for an answer “truenas ups lost connection” or similar. You will find a lot of postings. If that fails then submit a ticket for the issue.

Note: I also run TrueNAS on top of ESXi so I through maybe that contributed to my rare issues.

Thanks.
Initially, a reboot did not solve the issue. I don’t *think* I have the issue anymore but I’m still going to check my log files and investigate a bit more.

So, when I initially noticed the error (after a simple reboot or two) I turned off the service and then tried to boot to previous versions. After two previous version test reboots (see above) I booted back to 13.0-U6.1 and went to bed. I figured I’d try and research more in the morning, but the UPS service was enabled. I thought–apparently incorrectly–that since I turned off the service it would retain that through a reboot.

Not sure what else to say about this; I think my issue is “fixed” but I’ll report back if I find anything. Or at least the daemons used so we can service ... restart or something (unless someone already know all the daemons used).

It happens to me too, not often, just 3-4 times over 8 months. In my case, i stop the service → unplug the USB → plug again → restart service. Lucky i dont Need to reboot system
