Vdev mirroring and adding a disc went wrong

With the information given, there’s no way for anyone to help except to guess.

ok, sry.
what information you need?
i’m in ssh connected to my TrueNAS-13.0

what command could I use to see if my ssd (connected) is working?

for the data-pool it seems ok:

root@freenas[~]# zpool list -v nas
nas 1.81T 428G 1.39T - - 0% 23% 1.00x ONLINE /mnt
  mirror-0 1.81T 428G 1.39T - - 0% 23.0% - ONLINE
    gptid/d9893e93-5657-11ea-8c2c-94de8073836e 1.82T - ONLINE
    gptid/81a0fa36-c75d-11ef-ab86-94de8073836e 1.82T - ONLINE
  indirect-1 - - - - - - - ONLINE

for the boot-pool, there seems to be no mirror:

root@freenas[~]# zpool list -v boot-pool
boot-pool 232G 1.30G 231G - - 0% 0% 1.00x ONLINE -
  da0p2 233G 1.30G 231G - - 0% 0.55% - ONLINE

so the second ssd is missing… how can I check what’s wrong?

greets
Roy

Did you actually “upgrade” or install TrueNAS Core 13.0-U6.6 and then import your config file?

Does the other SSD show up at all in the GUI’s “Disks” page? If so, does it show that it is unassigned to a pool?

Do you see the other SSD listed with sudo camcontrol devlist?

If you can reboot with a monitor and keyboard attached, do you see the other SSD detected in the BIOS?

it is install and import config. that’s why my pools are actually not working…

no actually i can’t connect directly, i’m in remote on an other place.
it is not shown in the disk section
and not in camcontrol
root@freenas[~]# camcontrol devlist
<WDC WD20EFAX-68FB5N0 82.00A82> at scbus4 target 0 lun 0 (ada0,pass0)
<WDC WD20EFAX-68FB5N0 82.00A82> at scbus5 target 0 lun 0 (ada1,pass1)
<Realtek RTL9210B-CG 1.00> at scbus6 target 0 lun 0 (da0,pass2)

it should be a second realtek

That’s why it’s important to be specific when it comes to software, hardware, and troubleshooting. Certain terms have specific meanings.

This was not an update or upgrade. You did indeed do a fresh installation. Did you choose both SSDs for the boot-pool during the installer?

It’s not likely detected by the BIOS either. (Not sure either way.)

Is this a USB adapter in which an SSD is installed?

Does a single USB adapter hold multiple SSDs, or do you have two separate USB adapters, each with their own SSD?

The SSD’s are connected on 1 double USB3.0 Interface of the mainboard.
so maybe 1 adapter, could be, yeah.

But it worked before, and I think there was arleady problems when i installed new, because I only could see 1 ssd, not both while installing new…

How many external adapters? Two? Two physically independent USB-to-SSD enclosures?

2 external cases
so 1 ssd in 1 enclousure and 2 enclousers connected via usb

Then you’ll have to inspect the physical drive and server the next time you visit.

ok,
but how can I detect the “non-working” one?
i was there before 1h and both had the blue led as normal…
and both had near the same temperature by feeling with my hand…

I don’t know anything about those RealTek USB enclosures. You’ll have to figure it out.

At this point, anything I say will be bad advice and could do more harm than good.

You should see a serial number of the “working” SSD/USB in the Disks page.
