I am at a loss. I have 2 pools on truenas one is my backup which is raid z1 and the other is all my movies which was on a 2 disk stripe.
I had one disk reporting errors so I replaced it and resilvered it. Few days later the drive I replaced started to fail and now is not working at all.
I go in and the drive removed itself from the pool and is stuck on disks with exported pools.
I tried the things that were posted for David but they do not seem to be working.
Halp!!

We’re going to to need your current hardware details, pool & VDEV setup and OS version.
What did you attempt to do? What is your current pool(s) status?
Results from the following may help. Post back using Preformatted text like you did with LSBLK
sudo zpool status -v
sudo zpool import

Hey Barky,
I have looked at other threads and other places online.
I am still new to truenas although I have been using it for over a year lol.
I have rebooted and tried some commands found in another thread where he had a similar experience to me but they didnt seem to work.

I have a feeling I may be cooked.
even though the drive was not full so I dont think it went into the second drive in the stripe.
I also know they are not recommended since this kind of thing can happen.
Try powering off and reseating the drive cables, power and data, for your Media pool. It looks like you replaced a disk off the MAIN pool (Raid-Z1) because it is reporting ‘resilvered 7.32G’ under zpool status, above.
did you replace a disk on the Media pool also?
I have reset all the cables and even added a pcie sata setup with 6 ports to make sure the mb was not acting up. that is the current setup.
The 4 main disks raidz1 are on that card. I did replace one of the drives for media a 3tb that was reporting errors to a 4tb “refurb” from WD and that is the one that does not even show up anymore. I since changed that to the other one I got to see if that would help but it just shows it as available.
So on the main backup I have 4 2tb drives and Media had 2 a 4tb which is the one showing disks with exported pools and was 3tb changed to the other 4tb that failed
The Media pool. You say striped so that was something like a 3TB + 3TB for 6TB of space in the Pool? If a drive fails in that configuration of a VDEV, the entire pool is lost.
Check on the model of the PCIe SATA card. We recommend HBA cards and not ‘port expanders’. If the SATA card is a SATA switch, it may be okay.
What’s all the noise about HBA’s, and why can’t I use a RAID controller?
Multiply your problems with SATA Port Multipliers and cheap SATA controllers
So the pci-e I used is this 10Gtek 6-Port PCIe Expansion Card, PCIe x4 to 6X SATA 3.0 (6Gbps)
And yes the media was 2 drive stripe both 4tb after I replaced one 3tb with a new 4tb which is what failed.
I just took the media drives and put them back on the mobo to make sure that was not interfering with my issue and its the same.
I took the drive that stopped showing up and plugged it back in and it still does not show up.

From what I am seeing here the pcie is not a issue "yet" I will look into switching to a HBA though
I have literally no idea what happened. I let it sit running since my last reply and it fixed itself.
I quickly added the other drive I had on standby and will see what it does in the am
