Web UI says "No Disks Available"

Im using an old dell prebuilt i loaded TrueNas onto. It’s an i5-650 running 8gbs of ddr3 at 1333mhz. No dedicated gpu, and I have a 300gb HDD boot drive and a 2TB HDD. Neither are showing up in the web UI when i go to create a pool, and even under the “disks” tab I do not see them. In the shell I used “lsblk” to show me the disks and sure enough they are there. Some threads have sudo commands which also didnt work. One of the sudo commands led me to have to put in my admin password but the shell wouldnt let me type it. I dont know what sudo command it was since I’ve closed the shell and opened it multiple times and have been rummaging thru the internet opening and closing any relevant threads. Please help, the shell shows me drives but the UI doesnt

Boot disk is used already and will not be available. Try switching the Layout option to stripe and see if your single disk shows.

How are the disks attached? Your lsblk command seems to show a disk, sdb, at 1.8T
Maybe you just need to format or wipe the drive.

I suspect this should work. You don’t have enough disks available for a mirror so the wizard is probably not showing that option.

That said it’s risky to run TrueNAS with a single storage disk and zero redundancy. It would definitely be preferable to have at least one more disk so you can set up a mirror

Update: I forgot what I did in my flurry of troubleshooting and shell commands but after messing about I finally got both drives to show up. You’re right, SmallBarky, that I cannot use my boot drive. And you’re right too, DjP-iX, I don’t have enough drives to mirror so stripe it is.
