So I have done some research but no luck. I have a system that is new and running Windows 11. I can map a drive to the TrueNAS setup if I put in the full path \server\share however I am unable to browse in the network in Windows Network. This worked under Windows 10. The workgroup setting on the Windows 11 system and the workgroup setting in TrueNAS match. Anyone have any thoughts? Yes, I clicked yes to the it’s a private network and enable browsing window notification and I have verified the settings. The TrueNAS system is visible from MacOS clients as well as the AppleTVs.
Thanks for having me look at this again. Both mDNS and WS-Discovery were checked. I know that mDNS is working as the server shows up in the MacOS network browser. As a long shot, I turned on NetBIOS-NS which I 100% should not need and guess what, the server shows up in the Windows 11 Network Neighborhood. I am at a loss to understand why in 2025 Windows would need to have this on. The server and windows client are on the same network and mDNS works just fine on this network (I have looked at the mDNS network traffic and can see all the thread stuff, AppleTVs and the TrueNAS system just fine). Any idea why mDNS is not enough?
