ZFS pool KO after filling at 100%

I tried again to remove a single 50 GB file, the hung occured quite quickly. I really think the pool is dead. I will have no time on next week, so feel free to raise ideas, else, I will destroy the pool and recreate it.

In the future, you should set a reservation on the pool/dataset in Dataset Space Management so it cannot get to 100%. I have mine set for:

Reserved for Dataset:
250 GiB

Reserved for Dataset & Children:
250 GiB
2 Likes

To conclude, even the destroy command failed, I had to kill the disks partition table to finally boot and remove the pool name. I was then able to recreate the pool.

It is a bit sad that the reservation/preservation of the pool is not native.

Anyway, as it was a test environment, it was not critical, I hope this thread will help some people somehow.

I am now facing another issue with the active directory, but it is another story.

Thanks to everyone who spent some time on my thread!
