Hi All, I have just recently installed TrueNas. I transferred some data across (movies, files, etc) as a trial. I can see my “Shared” Drive in Windows (yes probably wrong terminology) and on my Android devices, all was good in the land of the new toy.
I then enabled SMB1 support, as my Media box connected to my non-smart TV could find the drive but not see the files. I did this as it was a recommended option somewhere on the forum.
That’s when everything went Pear Shaped.
Nothing could see the files but it was all there as my storage was used up. I then created a new dataset, copied everything from original dataset to the new one. setup acl on the new dataset (seems like I cocked this up as well) as I could see the folders but had no access to them, after click random items like a drunk ape that dataset could be accessed but non of the files or folders show.
So now I have 2 datasets with identical data, but I can’t see it from my Windows device, or any other device. I can still “open” the share from the device but get |This folder is empty|
WHO has some legend info and advice here for me.
