I have one drive that is consistently causing two alerts to be sent:
Device: /dev/sd_ [SAT], 1 Offline uncorrectable sectors.
Device: /dev/sd_ [SAT], 24 Currently unreadable (pending) sectors.
I have a second drive that is consistently causing one alert to be sent.
Device: /dev/sd_ [SAT], 24 Offline uncorrectable sectors.
I replaced the device letters with underscores because they change between reboots, but I confirmed using the disks’ serial numbers.
Both drives have “SUCCESS” under “Status” for all of S.M.A.R.T. Test Results, and “No errors” shown under “LBA of First Error,” so I’m confused about what I should do.
Do I rely on the S.M.A.R.T. results and ignore the alerts, or are the alerts warning me that I should be replacing those drives?
Is it just a coincidence that the number of Currently unreadable (pending) sectors of one disk is the same as the number of Offline uncorrectable sectors of the other?
