Bond0 doesn't work with eno1 and eno2

Good morning,
I have a little question about bond0:
I’m new to Truenas and I tried to bundle the first two nics but if I try to create the new network interface the system answers with: eno1 and eno2 are already in use via the CLI.
If I tried it in the console menu, but I can’t select eno1 and eno2. What is selectable is the second nic with fiberports I don’t want to use at this time.
What I have done before:
Configured eno1 as a single nic. Everything worked fine.
Configured the pool , the datasets and the shares.
Deleted the IP from eno1 , booted the server then tried to configure the bond0.
But I can’t configure the bond0 on eno1 and eno2.

System ElectricEel-24.10.2 .
Had someone the same problem?
Best regards,
Ingo

If eno1 is the currently used interface of your TrueNAS, then:

  • configure bond0 with just eno2
  • test & save
  • remove IP address from eno1
  • place IP address on bond0
  • test & save
  • put eno1 in bond0
  • test & save

HTH,
Patrick

Hello Patrick, thank you for your answer.
I can’t configure the bond0 with eno2.
eno2 is not selectable. Not in the webinterface not in the console.

You need one interface in unused state to begin creating bond0.

With a former reset of eno2 it’s running now.
Best regards,
Ingo
