Help! I’m currently running Fangtooth 25.04.
I have 3 SMB shares on my TrueNAS. I can access them properly through a user I made “famuser” on my Windows PC, but when I switch to my Bazzite OS, I can open files, but I can not add, or copy files into the SMB share.
So should I just wait for the update of Bazzite? I noticed the link you shared, references a different link, which also references a different link. Hahahha
I would agree with what LarsR wrote. Had the same problem with cachyos kde version. An update came a 2 days ago that fixed it. Seem to remember there was a later version of smbclient. Difficult to say if that was it amongst so many other package updates.
I do not use bazzite and don’t know which package manager it uses (apt snap etc) so i can’t give you advice on how to update. That would be more of a question for the bazzite support channels…
You may mount the SMB share using the “mount” command. I actually use a startup script with KDE which starts at login and mounts my user’s shares with the “mount” command. Simple and all apps work very well and it is not KDE specific.
Keep in mind that smb paths (smb://) are not supported in all applications, so from that point of view you’re better with the “mount” command.
