I’m currently running CORE 13.0-U5. It’s working fine. At the moment it’s purely for file backup (I use SMB to access it from Windows) and as a Plex server, i.e. personal use. I’m in no way a Linux expert, etc.
There is now an update to 13.0-U6.3 (I must have missed the other 6.x updates) as well as a 13.3? But in notes it is mentioned that users of 3rd party apps should consider moving to SCALE. I’m not sure what 13.3 is for.
If I update to 13.0-U6 am I going to lose any of the minimal functionality I’m currently using? Should I actually be upgrading to 13.3, or SCALE? And if yes, what are the potential downsides?
Sorry for the newb questions but I read the notes and it’s still not clear to me.
I was promised better replication performance, specifically replications being able to resume where an interrupted one left off. This functionality is not working for me. There were some bumps in the road as well, such as Apple Charset Compatibility mysteriously shutting itself off. But overall, the switch to SCALE was painless.
However, I had a very simple use case - just files via SMB, no jails, no VMs, etc. If I were in your shoes, and everything is working, I’d update to the latest CORE (13.3 x.x) and call it day.
