Datasets and children

Could some please explain what I am doing wrong here.
I have two datasets. One is called “configs” and the other is “Personal”. Under each one, it has children listed. When I login to the server on my Mac. It shows me this screen shot.
Configs has data and data2.
Personal has Documents,Genealogy, Photos and RM11.
How can change the settings so that it only shows me the two parent datasets (configs and Personal). I don’t want to see the two data and data2 children unless I click on its parent “configs”.
Hope I explained this clear enough. Thanks!

In the Web-UI go to Shares and delete or disable the share for data and data2.

Is there a reason for all your Datasets? Do you have different settings for record size or needed different SMB sharing?

Shares build a flat namespace with only the server as the parent object. This is independent of the dataset hierarchy. There is no such thing as hierarchical shares.

Depending on the protocol you might not even be able to see child datasets if you only share the parent, e.g. with NFS.

I disabled them and it doesn’t show them unless I click on the parent datasets “configs”. That was the only thing I didn’t try. Thank you so much.

I as just set this NAS up a few days ago. I was in the process of learning how to do datasets, shares and ACL settings. Over looking the finer details of course. Those datasets may change as I learn more.
