Hi folks , I have dragonfish running in my system and it works very well, 3 pools , plex qbittorrent prowlarr, 1 VM with win 10, smb share with different PCs in my home networks are working very well, one of the features that I like from dragonfish is the information/problems/ critical errors via mail (out mail) , as I understood, this feature is not available in Eel and it will be in fangtooth.
Question: do you think it’s worth update dragonfish to the eel or wait to April 2025 for the stable version of fangtooth ? Will be possible update dragonfish direct to fangtooth?
Should I get any advantage in my system updating to eel right now?
Thanks for your help and advices
I’m also interested in this. I’m currently on Dragonfish-24.04.2 with everything running as intended. I have no ix-applications on my systems, just virtual machines, and am looking to find which would be the preferable upgrade.
Since the recommended update way is from one major version to the next, you’d eventually have to update to EE anyway and then to fangtooth.
If you’re using apps, the switch from kubernetes to docker was a major benefit for me, since the cpu usage dropped from alsmost constant 10% to mostly idle to 1-2%. That also lead in a cpu temp drop of almost 5°.
If you’re using truecharts apps you’d have manually migrate them to custom apps or, if afailable, iX apps before updating to EE.
If you mean the buildin alert massaging it’s still there and working, but the messaging backend was changed, which lead to problems for user created scripts such as the multi report script. For multi report the creator found wa work around for the new messaging system and it’s working again.
