Enable console P/W via ssh

Hi Folks

I’ve been asked to change the TrueNAS CORE console to prompt for a password, but I don’t have web access to the machine, so can’t do so via the web GUI. Just to make it more awkward, the machine is about 300 miles away :frowning:

Is there any way this can be done from ssh/command line?

You can’t port forward via SSH? That would let you access the web GUI.

Thanks for your reply Dan and sorry about not responding … I’ve had some stuff going on at home.

Great idea - I tried that, but no joy. I think the IPS at the remote end picked up on what I was doing or something like that. I’ve checked sshd config on remote machine and all seems to be as it should be. That’s all I can thing of.

Unless there’s some ‘NAS-fu’ I can run from the command line, looks like I’ll be taking a long drive :frowning:

I’m sure it’s possible to do by way of an API call, but I don’t know off the top of my head what that would be.
