On today’s episode of TrueNAS Tech Talk, Kris and Chris talk about the Fangtooth BETA1 coming out in less than a week, dig into ZFS Replication and using the Pull method instead of Push for added security, and answer viewer questions about APIs, NVMe-oF, eMMC boot devices, and small form-factor GPUs to tuck into your TrueNAS Mini to enhance your video transcoding power. All this and more today on TrueNAS Tech Talk!
Thanks for explaining how WebSocket is good when you have ton of API calls
Btw, I dont really care that much about correct pronunciation but since I seem to keep sending questions (I cant help myself) I guess I should make it clear.
The “j” in Ondrej is pronounced as “y” in “day”. Actually, in past episode Kris said it correctly. Or just listen here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWh4FQw3tTY
Technically the real correct form in my native language is “Ondřej”. You can see the character “ř” in there. Pronounced here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twGXAjsRiQ0
But dont even try to say it. I think I heard its one of the hardest sound to make According to wiki its something called “raised alveolar non-sonorant trill”. But dont ask me what that means
Ř - Wikipedia
Anyone English speaking should just use Ondrej which is much more easy to pronounce.
English version of this name is actually “Andrew” which was funnily enough also one of the people asking questions this episode.
I guess Chris thought I am French, I think they pronounce “j” like in Jean-Claude van Damme.
So this ends my language lesson
Thanks for the clarification! I’ll make sure to pronounce it correctly next time - since I imagine you’ll be sending in more questions
