Linux server VM keeps wanting to reinstall itself

After successfully installing fedora server 41 on VM and rebooting install screen showed up again. The same problem appeared, when i tried to install ubuntu server 24.04 LTS. No issue with windows.

The workaround for me was:

  1. click “Virtualization”
  2. select your VM
  3. click “Devices”
  4. click 3 dots in “Disk” Device
  5. click “Edit”
  6. change “Device Order” to something below Order of “CD-ROM” i.e. “999”
  7. click “Save”
  8. return to “Virtual Machines”
  9. select your VM
  10. click “Restart”

Just delete the CDROM device after you’ve installed.

ha, jep, I could and I just did. Now i have find a way to run Ubuntu server…
