A remote NAS is in receipt of 29k worth of snapshots due to a extensive ISP caused replication interruption. All replication tasks have now completed and the NAS is “idle” other than four middleware processes that are maxing out four cores.
Given that this remote NAS usually idles at around 2% utilization, I’ll presume it has to do with all the snapshots that are now clogging the system. Normally, snapshots expire and the system clears, but I’m still getting excess snapshot warnings. How long does this process usually take?
Makes me wonder though how long it should take the remote NAS to process 19k+ excess snapshots. The CPU in question is the lovely C2758 found in the MiniXL I bought years ago.
When I wake up my backup server with my pools which I rotate for replication, it can easily take 10-15 minutes for TrueNAS SCALE to become accessible via the web page.
I could be wrong, bit I have to wait around 1hr in order to be able to manually request the list of the snapshots for the entire pool so I can run my scripted replication.
