Migrating from Truenas Core to Truenas Scale electric eel

Hello,

I’m wanting to migrate from Truenas Core Version: TrueNAS-13.3-RELEASE to the latest Scale Electric eel version. I’m reading that the root account will not transfer over once I do the conversion. I created a new administrator account truenas_admin, but cannot login to the web UI to test. I’m concerned if i do the migration, I won’t be able to log in with my root account. Is there a good step by step process to do this migration?
Thanks

I went from core to scale and the login did not change. I log in with root/password same as before. The new fangtooth that has not been released does not login with root but instead logs in with truenas_admin/password.

24.10 defaults to the truenas_admin account instead of root. However, when you upload your CORE config file that account will be overwritten so you will need to log back in as root.

We recommend recreating an admin user at this point and disabling the root account password.

Did you do a fresh install and restore, or did you just change the train within the update module.

Are you testing while still on CORE? CORE does not allow any user but root for UI login.

Thanks, thats what i have been reading and finding out testing.

Thanks for the replies. I had to do the migration in a couple steps. I had to move to Scale DragonFish, then to ElectricEel. I had a few issues with things not translating over fully but functionality is working, and the root account migrated over.
