I had problems with my old version, which kept locking up. I unhooked my drives from the system and reloaded the latest Fangtooth. That one is getting me ticked off very badly. I’m a newbie at this, following some of TrueNAS’s videos, and it’s getting worse than ever. I put in a password during the installation and reentered the password; system loaded up ok. I went to the browser to log in and it says I have the wrong password. just about ready to throw everything out the door…
One time I locked myself out of my house. I wanted to throw everything out the door but I wasn’t able to get in the door.
Which user are you trying to login with? root, admin or truenas_admin?
Hi, I tried with admin & root, they both told me I had wrong Name or Password?
Hi again… I just tried with truenas_admin and it did let me in… Now to configure the rest…
Hi there. When you say latest Fangtooth, what version specifically? There was an issue in the nightly build last night that would have presented itself in this way. If you’re using the 25.04.0 release, then it is a different issue.
Here is the version that I’m using: 25.04.0
The default administrator account changed to truenas_admin in 24.10, so seeing that on a fresh install makes sense. More details here:
Generally, I’d recommend following along with the documentation over watching videos, which are much more likely to be out of date, especially if you’re working on a version that just released last week.
I think that the title of this post is most appropriate - however it’s not TrueNAS that I am “not impressed” by!!!
